Asda update

Community Feedback
Over 700 local people attended Open Days on 10 and 11 May to see ASDA's proposals, with almost all saying they were in favour of the plans for Solstice Park and that a new supermarket could not open soon enough.

Many consultees highlighted that they are currently shopping out of town, in Salisbury or further afield and having an ASDA close to home would be welcomed. Whilst recognising that Solstice Park was intended for employment uses, the majority thought it would be ideal site for a supermarket.

Next Steps
ASDA expects to submit a planning application to Salisbury District Council later this summer and if approved, the store could be trading in time for Christmas 2008.
