PLANS MOVE ON A STEP

Plans by Asda to build a new supermarket at Amesbury have been approved by Salisbury District Council's planning and regulatory committee.

It must now be submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hazel Blears, because the decision goes against council policy on out-of-town shopping development.
