Solstice
Park restaurant will create new jobs
02 December 2005
About
40 new jobs will be created next year with the
opening of a new Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant
and 'drive thru' at Solstice Park, Amesbury.
Contractors
have started work in the 82-seat covered restaurant
and drive-thru, which is being built on a site
adjoining the A303.
It
is intended that the new restaurant will be
complete by March 2006.
Marketing
executive for Solstice Park Alexandra Spencer
said: "KFC will provide further job opportunities
for Amesbury and surrounding villages and we
foresee that another 40 jobs will be created
by KFC alone."
In
October, the Somerfield petrol station and Essential's
convenience store, and the Amesbury Archer restaurant
opened, and construction of a new Pizza Hut
restaurant is well under way, with its opening
planned for April 2006.
Marion
Saddler, general manager at the Amesbury Archer,
said trading had exceeded expectations, and
to meet demand, more staff had had to be employed
and additional catering equipment installed.
